Method to my madness

shirt: Miley Cyrus Max Azria, pants: marshalls, scarf: ann taylor Loft, heels: system, purse: vintage, necklace: forever21, bracelet: street shopping

Went to Hongdae once again for Japanese curry! I can't stay away from it! But anyways, it was a very casual dinner, so I wanted to wear very relaxed clothing. Also, most the time I'm running out the door (running late...mainly to class) and I always want to throw on something easy but yet put together. Thus, I created my casual wear rule:

a nice pair of jeans+heels=always looks nice.
a slouchy relaxed shirt + an easy cardigan + a scarf= you look effortlessly put together
add a statement bag for more touch = voila!! perfect easy, comfortable, thoughtless outfit
perfect for on the go!

I love my new (yet old) purse. It's vintage from my mother. The standout blue, sturdy half moon shape, and big size makes it a must in my closet! My mother almost sold it in a garage sale, but I definitely saved it :)

Randomly passed by a dance performance in the middle of Hongdae. That's why I love going there so much: there's so much going on on the streets!

And of course I loved my meal! I'm pretty sure the Japanese curry is very Koreanized, but it tastes delicious! Fried chicken with a spicy gravy and  yogurt on the side= YUM! (Haha, actually maybe that doesn't sound so good...)

On a side note: if you thought that fashion season is almost over, guess again! Seoul Fashion Week is coming up in October. How exciting

Well, have a nice day :)

cape: dooda shopping mall, jeans: miley cyrus max azria, white burnout tank+cross necklace: forever21, oxfords+blue tank+ bracelet+ headband: street shopping, purse: hyundai department store

Went to church on Sunday, wanted to play around with my new black cape. Matched it with acid washed jeans and a burnout tee to balance casual and strict. I like how the cape can be very playful and matched with almost any outfit or item of choice. I matched my raspberry striped headband to compliment the light pink inner lining that peeks through my cape. Wore my chocolate brown pointed toed oxfords to balance out skinny jeans and add great shape to legs. (Many friends ask for advice on what pair of heels to buy. I always tell them to go pointier rather than rounder. Pointed toed shoes do way more for your legs!) Added simple jewelry to not overpower the acid washed jeans I bought from Walmart (while intensely food shopping, they caught my eye!) and to keep the balance of chic and street. And of course I added stripes somewhere in my outfit too :)

Took the pictures in a random garden in front of a few apartment buildings. What a beautiful gazebo and tree...just noticed the frog chilling there too haha.

After church, grabbed a cup of coffee with a friend at a Cafe Pascucci in the Coex Mall. What a cute latte, I wonder how they make this? What cute hearts! Or maybe it's in the shape of a butt? Either way, it depends on your point of view (literally!.)

Anyways, I'm on holiday right now. Glad to take a break from classes! After only 2 weeks haha. If you're in Korea, Happy Chuseok! If not, enjoy your day :)

Fall investments

I walked around Dooda (a shopping mall) for hours just examining each display of clothing. These three pieces definitely caught my eye, broke my bank, and couldn't be left behind. For fall, I wanted to focus on chic and also casual looks. All three of these pieces can be dressed entirely up or be made more casual. I focused on two toned clothing with deep rich colors and accenting finishes. I love the light pink undertone on my black cape blazer, the accenting tan skirt and belt on my dress, the small shoulder pads on my knitted blazer, and the silver finishing buttons. I can't wait to show you guys how versatile each of these items are, but first...accessories!

Backpack+Oxfords: Ewha street shopping, Nail polish: Face It, Headbands+jewelry+Fakes: random street shopping

I'm into deep chocolate-y browns for accenting colors. I also love the boyishness of the backpack and oxford shoes. These details can give great contrast to overly feminine dresses or blouses. I'm into brights and classics when it comes to nail polish. I believe that the color of your nails can potentially change the mood of an entire outfit. I'm excited to wear bright yellow nail polish with a strict black blazer, or matching it to feminine clothing. Also, a modest coat of glitter nail polish can make nails look salon finished and easily styled. I found these twistable headbands while randomly street shopping. They can be twisted into any shape on your head and as tight or loose as you'd like. How versatile! I chose the deep brown headband to match my hair and add subtle detailing and chose the raspberry and black striped headband to feed my stripes obsession! They are really fun to play around with just like the fake eye lashes I invested in. I shall try them while on a night out for more glam!

Next shopping needs: Knitted slouchy sweaters to layer over all my dresses and to add warmth!

YAY! Fall is pretty much here! I'm so excited :)

Have a lovely day!

Raincheck for Japanese Curry

dress+belt: urban outfitters, cardigan: free people, wedges: anne klein, necklace: juicy couture

Ate some delicious Japanese curry in Hongdae the other day. Took a cue from the Japanese minimalist culture (sometimes...Harajuku is definitely not really...minimal) and wore a simple strapless dress, an easy and slouchy cardigan I use to dress up or down, and my innovative rain boots. I came up with the idea that wedges are one of the greatest pair of shoes to wear during rain. Why? It doesn't matter if you step in puddles, your feet don't get wet. Then if they do get wet just walking in the rain, since it's open toe, your feet dry quickly. Hey, it's better than wearing a pair of wet socks, right? I love the simplicity of this outfit and think strapless dresses accents shoulders nicely. If you have broad shoulders, wear them proudly! They are beautiful. Anyways, I got rained on very hard, found my theory about wedges full-proof, and am now glad that the rainy season is over.

I bought much cute fall items the other night. I shall share later!

Shopping at all hours

Went midnight shopping at Dongdaemun--an area known for shopping (expensive and nonexpensive) especially late at night. It's a street filled with buildings upon buildings of department stores and shopping malls. Did much fall shopping last night, will post my season's investments soon!
